Himalayan Salt

What is Himalayan Salt?

A special unrefined salt mostly sourced from the Punjab region of Pakistan at the foothills of the Himalayan mountains, where there are salt beds that have been around for 200 million years. The salts have a characteristic pink hue and contain 84 trace elements and minerals that naturally occur in the earth which is why the human body responds so well to the salts.

What is Himalayan Salt good for?

What are some ways to use Himalayan Salt in your health and beauty routine?

FOOT SOAK
Mix 1/8 cup of Himalayan and magnesium salts per each gallon of warm water. Submerge your tired feet in the salt bath for instant relief and added softening of calloused heels. Add a few drops of essential oils if desired.


HAND SCRUB
Mix a teaspoon of salt with ½ a teaspoon of olive oil (You can add a few drops of essential oil if desired). Scrub hands for a few minutes and rinse for an instant pick me up. Apply your favourite hand or body cream to finish. (My fav: Ultraceuticals Sun-Active Recovery Face and Body Cream)


BODY SCRUB
Combine a cup of salt with ¼ cup olive oil and a few drops of your favourite essential oil. (Lavender, rose, eucalyptus or peppermint work well) Mix ingredients and gently rub the concoction onto your skin using small, circular motions, focusing on the areas that tend to get driest like elbows, knees and soles of your feet. Shower off and apply your favourite body moisturiser. (My fav: Ultraceuticals

SALT BATH
Change ordinary bath water into a mineral smorgasbord and soak up those nourishing and skin-replenishing nutrients to refresh the skin and relax the body. Add 2 – 3 cups of salts to a warm bath. Relax, refresh, revive!
